Ingredients:
1 loaf whole wheat sandwich bread
Utensils:
food processor
2 rimmed baking sheet
airtight container
Instructions:
prepare ingredients
preheat the oven to 300°F
tear the bread loaf into chunks and place some of them into a food processor
pulse the bread until coarse crumbs form
pour the crumbs evenly onto the two baking sheets and repeat this process with the remaining bread
spread the crumbs into an even layer and place in the oven at 300°F for 10 minutes then stir them up a bit and bake for an additional 10 minutes
remove from oven and allow the crumbs to cool completely
transfer the breadcrumbs into an airtight container and store in a cool dry place for up to 3 months
Use these panko breadcrumbs for a filler, coating, or to top pasta.
