Marinara Sauce

Ingredients:

  • 56 ounces canned whole peeled tomatoes

  • 8 ounces canned tomato sauce

  • 1/2 cup onions diced

  • 2 garlic cloves minced

  • 1/4 cup parsley chopped

  • 2 garlic cloves minced

  • 2 teaspoons compliant sugar

  • 2 teaspoons kosher salt

  • 2 teaspoons dried oregano

  • 1 teaspoon dried basil

  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper

  • 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg

  • 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes

Utensils:

  • large sauce pan

  • wooden spoon

  • immersion blender


Instructions:

  1. prepare ingredients

  2. add 56 oz of whole canned tomatoes to a large sauce an and use a wooden spoon to break the tomatoes up a bit

  3. add 8 oz of tomato sauce to the pan

  4. add 1/2 cups of diced onions to the pan

  5. add 2 minced garlic cloves to the pan

  6. add 1/4 cup of chopped parsley to the pan

  7. add 2 tsp of sugar to the pan

  8. add 2 tsp of salt to the pan

  9. add 2 tsp of dried oregano to the pan

  10. add 1 tsp of dried basil to the pan

  11. add 1/4 tsp of black pepper to the pan

  12. add 1/4 tsp of nutmeg to the pan

  13. add 1 tsp of red pepper flakes to the pan and stir together to combine

  14. place the pan on the stove over high heat and bring to a boil then reduce heat to a simmer and simmer for 2 hours, stirring occasionally

  15. after 2 hours use an immersion blender to puree the sauce to your desired consistency


When you are ready for serving use this recipe for meatballs, pasta, pizza ect. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge or freezer to last longer.
