Ingredients:
1 tablespoons sage minced
2 teaspoons thyme minced
1 teaspoon fennel seeds crushed
1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes
1/8 teaspoon nutmeg
1 teaspoon kosher salt
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
1 1/2 pounds ground pork
3 slices raw bacon finely diced
2 tablespoons sugar-free maple syrup or pure maple syrup
1 tablespoon olive oil
Utensils:
large bowl
cutting board
knife
large mixing bowl
large skillet
1/4 cup measuring cup
spatula
Instructions:
prepare ingredients
get a large mixing bowl and add 1 1/2 lbs of ground pork
add 3 strips of chopped bacon to the bowl
add 1 tbsp of minced sage to the bowl
add 2 tsp of minced thyme to the bowl
add 1 tsp of crushed fennel seeds to the bowl
add 1/2 tsp of red pepper flakes to the bowl
add 1/8 tsp of nutmeg to the bowl
add 1 tsp of salt to the bowl
add 1/2 tsp of black pepper to the bowl
add 2 tbsp of syrup to the bowl and mix together with your hands but be careful to not over mix
use a 1/4 cup measuring cup to scoop out meat, then use your hands to shape into 3 inch patties and set aside; you should form about 13 patties
get a large skillet over medium heat and add 1 tbsp of olive oil
add the patties, in batches, and cook for 2-3 minutes on each side or until cooked through
When you are ready for serving, serve with maple syrup, add them to a sandwich, or eat on the side of some eggs.
