Andy's Chili

Ingredients:

  • 1 red bell pepper diced

  • 1 yellow bell pepper diced

  • 1 orange bell pepper diced

  • 1 green bell pepper diced

  • 1 small onion diced

  • 1 medium tomato diced

  • 5 garlic cloves minced

  • 32 ounce can black beans

  • 2 pounds ground turkey

  • 16 ounces tomato sauce

  • 10 ounce can diced tomatoes with habaneros

  • 2 jalapenos minced

  • 1 handful cilantro chopped

  • 1 tablespoon tobasco hot sauce

  • 2 tablespoons worcestershire sauce

  • 1 1/2 teaspoons garlic powder

  • 1 1/2 teaspoons chili powder

  • 1 teaspoon paprika

  • 1/2 teaspoon seasoning salt

  • 1 teaspoon salt

  • 1-2 cups water

  • 2 tablespoons olive oil

Utensils:​​​

  • large skillet

  • large pot

  • mixing spatula

  • knife

  • cutting board

  • can opener


​Instructions:​

  1. prepare ingredients

  2. get a large skillet over medium heat and add 1 tbsp of olive oil

  3. add the 4 diced bell peppers to the skillet

  4. add 1 small diced onion to the skillet

  5. add 2 minced jalapenos to the skillet and saute for 10 minutes or until they begin to soften then pour the veggies into a large pot

  6. in the same skillet add 1 tbsp of olive oil

  7. add 2 lbs of ground turkey to the now empty skillet and saute together until the meat begins to brown making sure to mash and separate the meat as you cook it then at it to the large pot along with the vegetables

  8. add 1 1/2 teaspoons of garlic powder to the chili

  9. add 1 1/2 teaspoons to chili powder to the chili

  10. add 1 tsp of paprika to the chili

  11. add 1/2 tsp of seasoning salt to the chili

  12. add 1 tsp of salt to the chili

  13. pour a 32 oz can of black beans into the chili

  14. pour 16 oz of tomato sauce into the chili

  15. pour a 10 oz can of diced tomatoes with habaneros into the chili

  16. add 1 medium diced tomato to the chili

  17. add 1 tbsp of tobacco sauce

  18. add 2 tbsp of worcestershire sauce and mix together and allow it to boil for an additional 5 minutes

  19. add 1 handful of chopped cilantro to the chili and mix together

  20. reduce heat down and simmer for 30 minutes or longer stirring occasionally; the longer it sits the better it will taste

When you are ready for serving use a large serving spoon to scoop chili into a bowl and add any additional toppings.
