Ingredients:
1 heaping cup packed dates pitted
1/4 cup honey
1/4 cup almond butter
1 cup almonds
1 1/2 cups rolled oats
Utensils:
food processor
sauce pan
mixing bowl
mixing spatula
baking sheet
8 x 8 inch baking dish
parchment paper
Instructions:
prepare ingredients
preheat the oven to 350°F
add 1 1/2 cups of rolled oats to a baking sheet
add 1 cup of almonds to a baking sheet and spread out evenly
place the baking sheet in the oven at 350°F for 10-15 minutes until toasted and slightly browned
get a food processor and add 1 heaping cup of pitted dates and blend until they are all chopped up and form a ball in the processor
place the toasted oats and almonds into a mixing bowl
add the blended dates to the bowl and set aside
add 1/4 cup of honey to a sauce pan
add 1/4 cup of almond butter to the pan and pace it on the stove over low heat until melted and slightly bubbly
pour the honey and almond butter mixture into the mixing bowl and stir together, breaking up the dates to disperse them, until fully combined
line an 8 x 8 inch baking dish with parchment paper to bake the bars easy to remove
transfer the mixture into the prepared baking dish and press down firmly to form an even surface and to compact it tightly together
place the pan in the freezer for 15 minutes to firm up
remove the pan and use the parchment flaps to remove the bars
cut the bars into 10 equal bars
Store the bars in an airtight container in the fridge until you are ready to eat.
